Ban Chieng pot circa 2,000 years old. This culture is the earliest known in Thailand. This piece was excavated in the early 1970s and has been in storage since 1974. Owned by a gentleman who purchased it while living in Thailand during the Vietnam war. He flew for Air America (CIA) and purchased many beautiful things as he flew in and out of various S.E. Asian locations. No restoration, the only loss is the chips to the rim and surface wear as seen in the photos. Beautiful original untouched painting, with original burial dirt remaining. The vast majority of these are fake or at least restored/repainted. This is as it came out of the ground, with great provenance. It Stands 9-3/8 inches tall, top diameter of 8 inches.
