Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
This is an 18th century finely cast Sino-Tibetan protective deity who is the eater of bad dreams. He is in the form of a censor, and is designed so that the smoke comes out if his mouth. I am not sure whether he ever had a bottom. His fangs are copper, as is the lip around the bottom. The face is incredible- as good as I have seen on one of these, and they can go in to the high thousands. He sits 4.25 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide at his widest. The pictures are not of the best quality- the bronze has a better surface than appears in the photos.
