Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
This is a very early (15thC or earlier) Tibetan ritual skull cup with very uncommon silver gilding covering about 50% of the outside. It is 4.5 inches long by a bit over 3 inches wide by 2.5 inches tall, and heavy. It is quite rare. I traded for it many years ago with a prominent Chicago collector. I'd need 1380 for this piece. If you’ve seen any early good quality ritual pieces of this quality with their original surfaces like this you've seen the kind of prices they can sell for.
