Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Delightful 18/19thC Mongolian Gilt-bronze Tsong-ka-pa. Sits happily at 4.5 inches tall. Excellent condition with much of its gilding remaining-missing separately made vines that went into holes near its outer elbows. The large head with the deeply serene countenance suggest that if this is 19thC that it is early to middle, as the later ones tended to thin out. Traces of inlaid or painted eyes.
