Antique Teaching Buddha in a classic Indian form that has been emulated for millennia. Carved out of bone, it manages to capture more detail than I have ever seen in bone carving. The age looks to be 19th to 20th century based on the patina and wear; amazingly, there are no breaks or age-appropriate splits that fit with the patina. Put together with pegs (no glue). The pegs in the base are loose. Spend time with the carving-it really is a unique object that takes bone carving to another level. Sits 5.5 inches tall. Domestic Shipping is included.
