High quality Japanese Buddha that would have originally been set in the center of a "Buddhist mirror" (often made of wood). Probably 13/14thC. I have seen many of these over the past 25 years- some older, and a few on their original wooden mirrors, but none as well cast and finely sculpted as this one. Buddha is 4 5/8 inches tall,height on custom stand is 6.5 inches.
