Superbly carved stone Buddha. Classic 13/14thC Burmese Ava period. Best sculpting I've seen on ANY stone sculpture from this period- including in museums. Sits 4-3/4 inches tall, 5-1/2 inches with the custom stand. SPECIAL. For more than 25 years I kept a small group of pieces as my personal collection that I would not sell. When I retired recently I decided I would put up it all. This comes as close to my heart as any Buddha in my collection. If you blow it up it is hard to tell that it is not a large piece. That it can be scaled up this way is one sign of a finely carved sculpture. (Take one of the photos and blow it up large and you will see what I mean)
