Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
Unusual Himalayan Buddha. Early style with good age-bronze or copper alloy. Looks to be the original (and very unusual ) bottom plate still in place. Hard to date, but I believe it to be at least 19thC, and possibly earlier. Sits 2 3/8 inches tall, 3.5 inches on a custom stand. After showing him to a number of knowledgeable friends, the best working hypothesis is that he is from the Himalayan Foothills in India. Inventory 7724.
