Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
This is a fairly large Northern Thai Buddha from the 15th, or possibly 16th century. It has a supremely serene countenance, and a very smooth, silky untouched patina (the square of gold in the center of the chest was put on as an act of devotion in modern times by a Thai as an act of devotion- this is commonly done in temples and on home altars). There are a few expectable original minor casting flaws and bends, otherwise the condition is excellent. Sits 10.5 inches tall by 7 inches wide. Slightly lighter in person- this one was hard to fully capture in photos- it shines brightly.
