Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
This is a pair of Burmese 18/19thC bronze monks. They are quite unusual in that while they are provincially cast, each is quite individual in nature, and do not appear to have been formed in molds. The shorter one is 5 inches tall by 4 inches deep and the taller one is 5.5 inches tall by a bit over 4 inches deep. Height on custom stands are elevated by 1 inch. You can see that one is thinner and has a longer neck and the other is shorter and broader with almost no neck. Their feet fold under to different sides. They are very heavy for their size.
