High quality 18thC Thai late Ayutaya Buddha with Burmese influence. This is a lovely thick silver sheet over clay and rock core Buddha- much more substantial then the small wafer thin beat up small old Thai silver Buddhas you sometimes see up for auction. You also sometimes see the new copies- this is not one of them either. . This is a large and lovely (10 full inches tall by over 5.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep. Heavy at over 48 ounces. Buddha crafted probably between 1750 and 1800. . In outstanding condition- in part because the silver sheeting is reasonably substantial. Some expectable dents, especially to the lower base at the very bottom. The bottom shows the original clay core and pebbles.
