Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Extremely early wax cast, very finely sculpted censor. The style and casting make it hard to place, but the patina, type of gilding and casting look to be S.E. Asian from 500 years old or older. The underside and inside look more like items 1,000 years old or more. Any thoughts on this piece would be appreciated. Came in a very fine, old custom fitted Japanese lacquer and silk box which looked to be early 20th century.
