Best of type! 18/19th Burmese Buddha with an extensive inscription that covers both the front and back of the base. The extensive incised decoration done after the casting along with the style of the face, lack of finial, and look of the ears suggest that this piece was made in a strongly influenced Mon area of Burma rather than being made in a more usual Shan area. Sits 10.25 inches tall not including the newly made custom museum-style display stand. Very hard to find this good all around.
