Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
A matched pair of trios (six total) of 18th-Century Tibetan copper Buddha and Bodhisattva plaques. Each plaque measures 6.75" high, with each assembled trio reaching 11.75" at the tallest point. Over the past 25 years, I have searched globally for examples of this type and have located roughly a dozen. These six are the finest I have ever acquired. The plaques occur in two forms—seated Buddha and four-armed Bodhisattva—and these two trios have been carefully matched for quality, detail, and harmony of presence. I have a few single plaques available on my site, but none approach the level of refinement, preservation, and sculptural clarity seen in these six.
Sets of this quality are exceptionally rare; to my knowledge, no other complete set of six exists in private hands or on the market. A remarkable and likely unrepeatable offering.
