16-18thC Chinese Miniature Bronze Buddha. This is an authentic late Ming (possibly Early Ching) miniature Buddha- the vast majority that look like this are from Thailand, and are mid/late 20th C. Authentic antique Chinese ones are quite rare, and very few of those have the age of this one. They are the prototypes for the Pra-Ging from Thailand. Sits only 1 and 7/16ths inches tall and 2 3/4 inches with its custom base. This is one of the first Buddhas I collected- I received it as a gift over 35 years ago. It has not been visible on my website until this year. Very special face that radiates compassion, equanimity, and deep serenity. The original consecration is long lost. It likely, when originally made, made a soft rattling sound when shaken. A piece of this age, quality, condition, with this superb patina, and with this level of powerful spiritual energy is extremely rare to find. Note the traces of red lacquer and gilding -they appear to be of the type found on certain types of Ming era Buddhas. The price is set higher than on other Buddhas of this very small size on my website, but it is a very special little Buddha.
