Rare pair of 18/19thC Shan Stone Temple Elephants. Given to me as a gift by a Burmese dealer friend 30 years ago, who had a whole group of these that his family had brought to Europe in the 1970's. Virtually all of the others had major damage- these have some chips/losses, but are in good condition for authentic examples. They would have been part of a group of 20 or more of these that would have surrounded the outside of a small Shan temple. I've never seen another pair of these for sale. I have near my bamboo garden, but they would look great inside or outside. Quite heavy. Size is 14 inches tall by 7 inches wide by 17 inches long and heavy.
