Rare Complete Set of 120 Miniature Tibetan Thangkas (Tsaklis). A remarkably rare complete set of 120 miniature Thangkas or Tsaklis, traditionally used to train young monks in recognizing and memorizing the vast pantheon of deities in Tibetan Buddhism and the Bön tradition. Sets of this size and completeness are extraordinarily uncommon—individual cards surface occasionally, but full surviving groups of 120 are almost never seen.

Many Tsakli sets were historically sewn together into long banners, and the needle holes visible on these examples suggest they were once displayed in this format. Each card features the name of the deity both painted on the front and written on the back. Although darkened over time from age and exposure to butter-lamp smoke, the set is otherwise in superb condition. Only about 10% of the cards are shown in the photographs for this listing; they were selected at random and are fully representative of the remaining 90%. Each Tsakli measures 3.75" × 3.25" and is painted on a canvas-like fabric. The full set is housed in a photo album (cards not in sequence).

In nearly 30 years of ownership, I have seen very few other complete sets offered for sale—and none of this scale and quality. This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire a full ritual teaching set. The starting price has been significantly reduced—now well under $25 per card plus auction fee and shipping (nearly half the original price). A rare, beautiful, and historically important teaching set—unlikely to be encountered again.
