Incredible Ming Bronze Buddha is. Best of its type, with a supremely beautiful glass-like smooth face. Sits 8.25" tall and 11.25" on its custom base.The rest of the "skin" (and possible the entire piece) could/would have the same surface as the face if it were cleaned (including the hands)- I know this because when I got it the entire thing was thick with dirt and it had very little detail. I could tell there was a very finely cast figure underneath, and did what I rarely do, and cleaned it to its present level. I decided to only clean the face to its current level and leave the rest for the next person to decide- I only used a few bits of museum wax and soft brushes and q-tips to bring the to is current glass-sooth state. The gilding is the finest quality mercury gilding. Note that the face is not perfectly even, but that the sculptor took the time to make the expression more "realistic" and and alive by making the expression purposefully asymmetrical
