Reserve is less than a 1/3 the estimated value of this special piece. Very beautiful antique Nepalese bronze Buddha, probably in the range of 100 years old. Finely cast and beautifully sculpted, with an exquisite face. There are many early 20thC pieces that look similar, but they are not of this quality of casting, patina, or overall beauty. Large in size, this piece measures 8.5" tall, and wide at .5 inches wide. Modified at one point it had concrete deep inside to mount it to something (a later base?) long missing. Underside has a not unpleasant smell of earth. Face as lovely as that on many Buddhas costing thousands of dollars.
