Fine 15th/16thC Ganesh that displays great personality and finesse. Very few as good as this one- in any size of any age. It is extremely hard to capture a distinctive personality in a Ganesh face due to the nature of the big trunk and ears and small eyes on the sides-often worn by time and devotion. This piece manages to convey a very singular character. Sits only a bit over 2.5 inches tall ( a bit over 4 inches on his custom base), but appears far larger in presence. He has been part of a trilogy of 3 Ganesh images in my personal collection for more than 10 years-being put up for sale for the first time as I downsize in advance of retirement.
