Superb 14/15thC true miniature Northern Thai Bronze Buddha with remains of gilding and burial evidence. It was reportedly found in a ruin site in the jungle outside Chiang Mai, Thailand, in the 1960s. I have come across one of the best miniatures of this type in 30 years of seeking them out. From the original personal collection- I have owned it for 25+ years and just put it up for sale. Size is a diminutive one and 3/8ths (Buddha only, 1 and 7/8 including attached modern base). It is very rare and fine-a true collector's piece to make at this level of quality and far more sought after than a full-size counterpart would be. The detail was obscured entirely by burial dirt when I first obtained this, and the fine detail, great personality (and remains of original gilding) only revealed themselves as I gently cleaned it with Q-tips and a few drops of museum wax. Domestic shipping is included, and international shipping is $50, including packing and insurance to anywhere in the world.
