Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
An extremely fine antique Tibetan Buddha with an illuminating cast. It almost glows in the dark. Looks to be 18/19thC, and sculpted to the highest standards. This piece has a supremely beautiful face. I purchased by a family member of mine recently after coveting it for almost 15 years. He had bought it 15 years ago from the grand daughter of the previous owner (who lived in London), who reportedly obtained it while living in Taiwan in the early 1980's. I recently got it as part of a trade. I am selling it to help raise money to buy my retirement home. Special piece.
