Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
SET OF THREE (Tibetan or Mongolian). I originally believed this was 15thC or possibly earlier and possibly Mongolian, but a very knowledgeable collector of tsa tsa told me he was pretty sure this type was 11/12thC and from Tibet. Unusual type, with a Stupa on one side and a prayer (maybe clear enough to read as it is so well cast if you could understand the language). Each tsa tsa is 2.5" tall each, almost 2" wide, and 0.5" deep. I took my best 3 and had a base maker make a special base to hold this set of 3 together. The set measures 5.25" on its custom base at its highest point. Beautiful and rare, especially in a matched set of three. I had gotten a group of 10 or 11 of these many years ago and sold some of them individually, but decided to keep these to sell as a set.
