Best quality Northern Sukhothai 15thC Standing Buddha. He has, however, the billowing robes that are closer to a walking Buddha, and in many ways feels like the one "standing" "waling" Buddha I have ever seen. Originally completely gilded, this is a true period piece (there are very few-especially of this size and stand out quality). This piece measures little under 16" tall (at its highest point), and a little under 18" tall on its custom base. Missing maer of one middle finger and ding to tip of nose- otherwise superb condition. Would have glowed when new and completley gilded with high karat gilding and precious stone eyes. He would have stood in a high place, and people would have sat at his feet looking up. Museum quality.
