A personal favorite, and extremely rare- a thickly cast large 18thC or earlier bronze/copper plaque of the birth of the Buddha out of the side of his mother. I believe that it is probably Cambodian with strong Thai influence, made during the Ayuthaya period in Thailand. This is based on the clothing, facial features, casting, and comparing it to other art from the period. This piece was originally lacquered in brown and black, traces of which are still evident. No one I know has seen another like it. It is almost certainly an old temple piece. Wear to the high points as expected- generally in fantastic untouched condition. Sits 10 inches tall by 6.5 inches wide, and is quite thick- it weighs over 77 ounces. This is a true one of a kind.
