Large 17/18thC Ava/Shan Buddha. This piece measures 19 inches x 9 inches x 4.25 inches. Loss to nose, and usual losses to base that are found on virtually all authentic Burmese wood Buddhas of this age (due to heat, humidity, and bugs found in Burmese climate). If it were not for issue with nose, this Buddha would be splendid, and would be worth 3 to 5 times what it is selling for now (could be fairly easily repaired by someone who knew how). Wonderful round "baby face" as is found on the late Ava-type Buddhas.
