Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
This rare antique Tibetan Thangka stands out for its extraordinary ink-like painting technique, giving the work a level of detail and fluid linework seen in only the finest early pieces. Its intricate, mandala-like composition suggests significant age and ritual importance. According to provenance, it was acquired in Asia during the 1940s and was already old at that timeāone of only two similar examples seen in over 30 years. Beautifully custom-framed with museum glass and Thai silk matting, the Thangka measures 11.25" x 14", with the frame measuring 16.5" x 20" x 1". Starting price reduced.
