16thC Thai bronze Buddha, with some Burmese influence (such as the bottle shaped finial on top of his head). Very well cast and sculpted- far better than the vast majority of smaller Buddha images from this period. It was made in a high level foundry. Originally had inlaid eyes- likely with shell and stone. Measures 6 1/8 inches x 3 3/4 inches x 2 3/4 inches, and quite heavy for his size. Rare type. Great expressiveness. I've had very few of this type of this quality in the past 25 years.
