Country Group:The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Item id: 8901

Powerful, unusual, and quite early Nepalese bronze fierce deity as a handle--likely out of a temple. Extremely elaborately cast, of ample proportions, and beautifully sculpted. Has a superb patina that shows generations of use. I've seen a number of variants over the decades, but none nearly as nice as this. This piece measures 11 inches long x 4 inches wide x 3 1/2 inches deep.
