Item id: 8904

Very rare and beautiful Ban Chieng pot circa 1,000- 2,000 years old. This culture is the earliest known in Thailand. This piece was excavated in the early 1970's, and has been in storage since 1974. Owned by a gentleman who purchased it while living in Thailand during the Vietnam war. He flew for Air America (CIA), and purchased many beautiful things as he flew in and out of various S.E. Asian locations. No restoration or repair, and no cracks- the only loss is the chip to the rim as seen in the photos. A large example of its type at approximately 8" tall, top diameter of 6". Beautiful original untouched painting.
