Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Rare and uncommon Buddha- hard to place- Ladakh? Mustang? Distinct small kingdom now part of Nepal? Looks very old. Both tribal and simple, and at the same time, refined, well cast (look at the designs in the robes and the Dorge!), and sophisticated- as a great piece of folk art should be. This piece measures 7 3/4 inches tall x 3 inches across x 2 1/2 inches deep. RARE. Dating i15 to 18thC a guess- seems very old.
