SPECIAL and rare- large and very heavy- authentic Ming dynasty Buddha carved out of a "black jade" or other very hard black stone. Carved with old type tools with heavy pitting from centuries of time. Wear consistent with age. Minor expectable roughness to some edges. A very slight bit of white stone shows at the very edges *when examined carefully and closely) where they sought to maximize the limits of the stone. Masterful carving. Looks smoother and shinier in person. Measures 11 inches tall x 6 inches across x 5 inches deep. Never seen another a fraction this size.
