This is a superb and quite large reclining Manadalay bronze Buddha. Purchased from a U.S. estate, I have not seen an authentic comparable piece of this size in 10 years. Retains most of its original stones., which I believe may be low grade rubies, although I am not positive- they do not appear to be the standard glass ones used on the wooden Buddhas- they are not all the same exact color which speaks to them probably being stones. Take a look at the wonderful face, which radiates joy and calm. He is a very good size at 24 inches long by 7 inches at his tallest by 7 inches at his widest. In excellent condition with no damage or repair. Came out of S.E. Asia legally through Thailand (still has the export tag attached) in 2511, which translates to 1968. My estimate on age is 19th to early 20th century. Lovely!
