13/14thC Korean Buddha-large and thickly cast in iron in an early backless style. Rare and fine. Extremely large for its type at 16 1/8 inches tall not including the museum type custom base. Beautiful smooth, untouched patina. Missing (separately cast) hands. The bottom has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches (without modern base). Very peaceful expression. You are unlikely to see another of this type in this size and quality outside a book or museum. Note- I just purchased a very closely related bronze pair of standing Buddhas in bronze from the same period which you can find in the "Korean" section of my website.
