13/14thC Korean Buddha-large and thickly cast in iron in an early backless style. Rare and large for its type at 16 inches tall not including the museum type custom base. Beautiful smooth, untouched patina. Missing (separately cast) hands. The bottom has a diameter of 4 inches (without modern base). Very peaceful expression. You are unlikely to see another of this type in this size and quality outside a book or museum. Note- I just purchased a very closely related bronze pair of standing Buddhas in bronze from the same period which you can find in the "Korean" section of my website. ( 16"H x 4"W x 4"D ) 12lbs . Strong spiritual feel
