This is an authentic and early Chiang Sen lead-bronze or other alloy Buddha tablet. There are many modern copies of this type, and a few authentic excavated pieces. Authentic pieces such as this, in excellent condition, with different types of polychrome or lacquer, are extremely rare. This is the best if its type I have encountered. The previous owner thought enough of this piece to have it encased in Lucite and then have an elaborate stand constructed. The actual Buddha tablet stands over 4,25 inches tall by 2 inches wide, and it is fairly thick. In the stand it is 8 inches tall by 6 inches wide.
