Extremely large at 22.5 in tall by 16.5 inches wide at the knees for the bronze alone, and on its original wooden base, it sits a formidable 25 inches tall by almost 18 in. wide at the knees. Very fine casting and finishing-delicate features. Spend time looking at the pictures. You'll see how crisp every detail is. Cold gilt applied to the face only. Very distinctive sculpting, with a large head and strong neck that is tilted ever so slightly to one side. His head is almost triangle-shaped, also slightly off balance. All this gives him a friendly yet powerful presence. The consecration plate on the bottom was loose and had clearly been previously removed, so I removed it so I could photograph the inside. To give a sense of how substantial the statue is, the copper consecration plate weighs a pound and a half by itself. Comes from an old European Collection. Weighs over 45 lbs
