Japanese Bronze Buddha. Was originally the center of a Japanese "Buddhist Mirror". These were popular in the 13th to 15th centuries-often the Buddha was cast in bronze and the "mirror" was made of wood. the "mirrors" are usually lost and they are either re-mounted or sold unmounted.
