This is a particular form of the 'fat and happy Buddha', found mostly in Thailand - in this example, he is covering his eyes. He is meant to carried for "good luck". Many early Thai amulets of this type- very few Burmese examples. No doubt the real thing- I'm digging into the recesses of my collection and putting up the last things I can find that have been with me for decades as I finally downsize as I move into retirement. Looks to be 19th or earlier.
