This is an uncommon Northern Thai Buddha, probably from the Kingdom of Fang. The casting and sculpting are unusually fine. He has an extremely unusual and expressive face- far more serious than most Buddhas. He also has an extremely desirable jade green patina, with a significant amount of original gilding remaining. This is a true collector’s grade piece from my personal collection. The pictures do not show the true beauty of this piece. Sits 8.5 inches tall. More expensive than some comparable size Buddhas, but he is rarer and finer and most.
