Very rare Hindu figure from Burma from possibly as early as Pyu period. Similar to item 9002, though unsure it is quite as early as that example, though they are remarkably related. This piece measures 5.625 H x 3.75"W tall not including the custom base
From the lifetime collection of Roger McCarthy, who served 30 years in the CIA (1952-1982). During his tenure, he held several positions including Case Officer, Regional Officer in Charge, Deputy Chief of Station and Chief of Station. He served in numerous countries: Japan, Thailand, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Peru, Burma and Laos. He was one of the early and few paramilitary trainers that trained many foreigners for a variety of operations. These operations took place in Indonesia, Korea, Tibet, Vietnam & Laos.
An exceptional example of its type, with a face that brings a smile to all who lays eyes upon him.
