18thC Tibetan Bronze Buddhist Monk-best quality, part of a pair. This auction is for the thinner of the two, both in the way he is sculpted and in the literal weight of the statute-it weighs almost 50% less than the other one, even though he is the same size. Spend time looking at the incredible detail and quality. I've had many first-rate Tibetan bronze monks, but this pair is probably the finest I've managed to acquire in my 30 years of collecting and selling. It is not just the precision with which they are sculpted, cast, and finished, it is also the amount of personality and animation, and individuality that each contains. It feels like they are talking with each other!
