18th Century Tibetan Bronze Protective Deity — Exceptional Large Example. This superb 18th Century Tibetan bronze protective deity is one of the finest and largest examples of its type that I have encountered. While I have handled many sculptures of this subject over the years, none have matched the quality, scale, and presence of this piece. The casting is exceptionally crisp, revealing remarkable precision in every detail of the figure’s form, adornments, and expression. The sculpting is powerful yet controlled, conveying both spiritual intensity and refined craftsmanship. The deity’s gaze is particularly striking—piercing, authoritative, and full of character.
The surface retains an untouched, rich chocolate-brown patina, beautifully even and completely original. This patina, combined with the superb modeling, gives the sculpture a commanding visual depth and warmth. The piece measures 12 inches tall including the base, and 9 inches tall for the bronze alone, with dimensions of 8 inches wide by 3 inches deep. The size, quality, and unaltered condition make this a standout example among Tibetan protective deity bronzes.
A truly exceptional and collectible sculpture.
