Remarkable Tibetan tantric figure. It is unlike any I have seen before. Take a look at the photos and you will see what I mean. It is hard to know where to look first-from the four main faces to the 8 incredibly detailed dragons to the tiny Buddhas in the crown, It will mesmerize you for hours. you see the quality everywhere-from the subtle striping cast into the Tiger Pelt around his waist to the Precision in all of the casting and finishing in virtually every single tiny detail. I've had many wonderful Tibetan Buddhas over the years that were older than this, that were more classic in their subject matter, etc., but I've had very few that had the level of overall precision, Dynamic energy, and complexity balanced with Beauty. It does not have the look or feel of an early piece. It also does not have the look or feel of a recent fake. based on the wear, patina, and overall quality, my feeling is that it is approaching 100 years old, though hard to know for sure.( 11.25"H x 6.25"W ) - 7.69lbs / 3.485kg including base. Base is 2" Tall.
