This finely painted depiction of the Four Guardian Kings dates to the 18th–19th Century, originally created for the inside of a Tibetan Buddhist manuscript—sometimes called a Buddhist “book bible.” The work displays excellent detail and strong color, with each guardian set against a vibrant mountainous landscape. Now beautifully presented in an expensive custom frame with hand-wrapped Thai silk matting and museum glass, the piece is both protected and elevated as a display artwork. In good condition for its age, it offers collectors an elegant and authentic example of early Tibetan devotional painting.
