Extremely early Burmese bronze Buddha from the earliest period of Burmese Buddhism. I THINK it is Mon style from the 6 to 9thC based on related pieces I have seen over the years, but may be Pyu or some other early type of Burmese Buddha. . Buddha is 1.5" tall, attached to a stand that elevates it for a total height of 3". I've only ever seen 4 of this type- all 4 were excavated at the same time in the 1970's in central Burma. May be a unique tribal variant.
