Very large and commanding Cambodian bronze Naga Buddha in the 12th/13th-century style. From the lifelong collection of a world traveler and international rug dealer, from whom I acquired five superb early Lao Buddhas along with this exceptional Cambodian example. While stylistically ancient, this piece appears to date to the 19th century, and possibly earlier.

The sculpture measures an impressive 22.5 inches tall x 10 inches wide x 4.5 inches deep, and is very heavy—an imposing presence with fine sculpting, excellent casting, and strong finishing work. In over 30 years of collecting and selling, I have seen only a few Naga Buddhas of this size and quality. A true centerpiece for any room or collection.
