This is a solid/semi-solid silver Buddha in a silver amulet holder that allows it to be worn. It is from Cambodia from the 17-19thC. I have not measured the purity of the silver, but it looks to be fairly pure. This was a popular form of Buddha during that period in Cambodia. They often had bases made of bronze or lead for these Buddhas (this one appears to have originally had one of these bases). It is very heavy for its size. It comes from a collection of small and miniature (mostly) solid silver Buddhas from Southeast Asian Countries, Including Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Burma. The majority Of the collection is Cambodian, due to the tradition of solid cast miniature silver Buddhas in Cambodia during the 17th through 19th centuries, and many were made during this period. There are few from other SE Asian countries, except for Indonesia, which produced significant numbers of exquisite solid-cast silver Buddhas during some periods.
