This is a (possibly solid) silver Dvarati Buddha, probably from Thailand from the 9-11thC. I have not measured the purity of the silver, and have no way to know for sure if it is solid cast, except for the weight, which is quite heavy for its size. It is absolutely the best Buddha of its type I have ever owned (And I have owned quite a few). It comes from a collection of small and miniature (mostly) silver Buddhas from Southeast Asian Countries, Including Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Burma. The majority Of the collection is Cambodian, as there is a tradition in that country of solid cast miniature and small silver Buddhas from the 17th through 19th centuries. There are few from other SE Asian countries, except for Indonesia, which produced significant numbers of exquisite solid-cast silver Buddhas during some time periods. This was the earliest and finest piece in the entire collection by far.
Take time to look at the exquisite face that radiates deep spiritual compassion, equanimity, and a deep sense of joy. The best Dvarati Buddhas manage to convey these feelings as successfully as any Buddhas during any time period. I have not cleaned at all. I do believe the white in the corners of the mouth would come out fairly easily, but I chose not to touch it as it is so wonderful and I did not want to risk messing it up.

It is displayed on a black base that is a bit large for it, but I felt that it showed off the piece well so I decided to include it. You may decide to get a custom one made. I think this one shows it very well. I tried to find a nicer one online for a comparable price and I couldn't find any Dvarati silver Buddhas of this quality, at any price! ( 2.875"H x 2"W ) - 185g  - Base ( 2"H x 4"W)
