Solid-cast southeast Asian (pre - Thai ) bronze Buddha from the earliest period. Note the flat back, which i points to a very early dating. Losses and extensive wear as seen in the photos. What makes this piece so special is the incredible sweetness of the face. Even though it has losses and wear, it is a striking, powerful and refined example of Buddhist art. You are unlikely to encounter another quite like this anywhere. This piece measures 5" tall and 6" on its custom base.. Rare.
