Larger than-life antique Chinese wood Buddha head. The original statue would have been monumental. The face is slightly exaggerated in part because it was sculpted to be viewed from below as people sat on the floor, and the figure was so tall. The head alone measures 18 1/2 inches tall x 8 inches across x 8 inches deep. Strongly weathered. Looks to be extremely old, I'm not an expert on dating this type. ( 8.18lbs / 3.710kg )
